Library Services: Community Partons

Your LBC ID is your library card

1 Your Library Issued Community Patron card is your library card! Use it to borrow booksrenew an item onlinemake requests for LBC resources at additional locations, or to make interlibrary loan requests

Things to Remember:

  • Materials can be returned to the circulation desk at each location. In Lancaster, items may also be returned using the book drop.

  • Patrons are financially responsible for lost or damaged materials

  • As a Community Patron your card Expires Yearly. You will be asked to pay a $25 fee and update information each year for renewal.

Access library resources from off-campus

3 As a Community Patron, you DO NOT have off campus access to Library Resources like databases, e-books, and journals. To use these resources please visit one of our Locations.

Finding library resources

5  LBC OneSearch  is the main search box on the library homepage. You can use it to find books, articles, and more.

For more in-depth article searching, select a specialized database in your area of study using the Databases lists. 

Our Research Guides are a great place to start your search.  Guides are laid out based on your subject area.

If you need help finding resources come to the Research Help Desk on the main level of the TLC.

7 Unfortunately, Additional Location Loan (ALLL)  & Inter Library Loan (ILL)  are not available for Community Patrons.  Please contact your Local Public Library for Inter Library Loan requests.

2 At any Lancaster Bible location, connect any device to WiFi  using the GUEST WiFi option. For further information or if you have issues logging go to the Information & Circulation Desk.

Computers, Printing & Coping

4 At the TLC, TLC II, as well as Memphis and Philadelphia, Community Patrons do not have computer/printing privileges. Please refer to the the links below to find out more.

Renew your books online

6 To renew an item online, go to My Library Account on the library website and login using your last name and library barcode number (listed on back of your Library card). 

As a Community Patron you can borrow Books for 14 days, with 3 renewals. DVDs may be 2 day or 14 day checkouts with 1 renewal. Kits may have an extended borrowing time. 20 item limit.

Course Reserves

8  As Community Patrons you may be asked to refrain from using material on reserve for current students and faculty members. Ask at the Information & Circulation Desk for more on borrowing reserved materials.
