Alumni Information Guide: Borrowing Privileges

Borrowing Privileges

As an Alumni you can borrow 20 Items at a time

  • Books check out for 14 days, with 3 renewals. (20 item limit)
  • Audio 14 day checkouts with 1 renewal. (5 item limit)
  • Kits 14 day or an extended borrowing time with approval. (3 item limit)
  • DVDs 14 day checkouts with 1 renewal. (10 item limit)

Requesting Items

Requesting items owned by LBC (Placing a hold)If you set up your account with a password, you may request items (place a hold) online. You may only request items that are located at Lancaster and you must pick them up at the Lancaster location.

LBC Share Interlibrary loan This service is not available for Community Patrons.  Your local public library can provide this service for you.

Renewing Items

  • You may renew online, by phone, by email (circdesk@lbc.edu), or in person.
  • After the renewal limit is reached (1 or 3 depending on the item), items must be physically returned to the library for re-shelving or to be checked back in and then checked back out.
  • Occasionally, a circumstance may arise that requires the modification of your due date. Note: If your materials are overdue when you renew them, the library circulation system can only renew until the $20 fine limit is reached.

Your LBC ID is your library card

Your Library Issued Alumni card is also your library card!

Use it to borrow books, renew an item online, and make requests. 

Things to Remember:

  • Materials can be returned to the circulation desk at any LBC Library Branch. In Lancaster, items may also be returned using the book drop.

  • Patrons are financially responsible for lost or damaged materials

  • As an Alumni your card Expires Yearly. You will be asked to update information each year for renewal.
