The mission of the ESL Program embodies the LBC College vision to promote academic excellence, student achievement, and support of diverse populations based on Christ-centered values by delivering high-quality academic English instruction and holistic support to non-native speakers and a diverse student organization. 

ESL Services prepares multilingual students for success with college-level reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, while also fostering cultural awareness and helping students navigate and engage confidently in diverse academic and social environments. In support of LBC’s Promise, we are committed to nurturing student success through:

• Cultivating a familial community of faculty, staff, and multilingual students.
• Fostering students’ academic skills and independence.
• Serving students at varying levels of English proficiency.
• Engaging in equitable and purposeful collaboration between faculty and learning support staff.
