Other Helpful Tips!

Course Readings: Take a look at the readings that are required for your class. Check the bibliographies/references listed at the end of each one. What are the main points, or essential words used in these course readings? Those words and phrases are great for searching.

Subject Headings: If you find an article or book that fits the criteria you are searching for, look at the hyperlinked subject headings. Clicking on these will open up more resources with that same subject. OR, you can go to the shelves. If you have found one book that seems relevant, other materials on the same subject will be located on the same or nearby shelves.

Thesaurus: Find synonyms and related terms relevant to your search by using the thesaurus and indexes provided in each database.
